Hi, I’m looking for a house in Casares pueblo. Just wondering how many Brits live in the village?

Hi Mr. Mark,

In the Village itself a few do.  I dont know them all but then I am Canadian (LOL).  Seriously though there are quite a few English speakers dotted around, in the Village, just outside the Village and in the Campos surrounding the area.  Definitely NOT like you would find in larger areas such as Sabinellas or Estepona though.

I live on an Urb just 10 minutes from the Village (walking) and there are quite a few on our street but most don't live here permanently.

Anything else i can help you with?

Hi Jan,

Yes Casares Pueblo has a very strong community.  There is a gym and a pool where you can swim lengths in the summer.  There is a small weekly market and the Village itself has enough stores and variety of fresh meat, fish and veg that its not necessary to go anywhere else, although you would probably want to.  There is horse riding a few minutes drive and lots of walking trails.  There are a surprising number of small cafes and restaurants around.

They have free WIFI up here for up to 4 hours per day and they even laid fibre throughout the area last year.

Its a short drive to lots of other places including the beautiful Casares Beach just off the A7.

I am presuming when you ask if its suitable for full time living you mean for an Expat because lots of Spanish have lived here for 100's of years.  They have a very strong community here.  There is always something going on - its quite amazing really! Soon we will have a 4 day Festival where lots of events will be taking place day and night.

There are quite a number of non Spanish who also live here full time.  I couldn't answer whether it would be suitable for full time living for you without knowing how you like to spend your time.

Hi Jan

You posted in Casares and asked about Frigliana.  Two different areas.

I have just bought in Casares Golf and will collect the keys end of this month. I need to furnish my 2 bed apartment where is a good place to go to buy all the necessary items, like beds, bedside lockers, sofa. Bar stools, kettle, toaster, balcony furniture etc?

Thanks in advance.

That really depends on whether you want to buy new or used?  Also depends on the type of furniture you like.

Hi Jeannie

We live Casares Green.  We bought furniture from:

Gavira Muebles (round the corner from Bahia Casares Restaurante)

El Corte Inglés, Puerto Banus

Furniture World, well worth a look at Poligano Industrial Estate, Estepona, BBQ', kettles, toasters, glasses, bins

Mijas, sorry forgotten name but near Loft and Roomers.  WARNING:  Do not go to Loft and Roomers, we spent 4.5k and they did not deliver, we lost our money.

Go to Leroy Merlin, Marbella it's a bit like B and Q.  Get a loyalty card it's well worth it.  Take your passports.

Go to Worten next to Leroy Merlin.  We got our American Fridge Freezer, wine cabinet, TV (cheaper than anywhere!)

Have fun!!

Elle
