Hi Joss,

I find it very easy.  As you leave the Airport the TREN (train station) is across the street.  You jump on the train Airport to Fuengirola it costs i think 2.70euros.  As you leave Fuengirola station which is far as the train goes you can either hop on a taxi to Calahonda (roughly 20 euros) or across from taxi rank is the bus station.   You hop on a 220 bus it takes about 15-20 minutes to Calahonda and costs about (less than 2 euros)  i do it all the time.  It is really , really easy and if stuck just ask someone and they will guide you in the right direction.
