I am just buying an apartment in Calahonda and have got some furniture, plus bedding, rugs and kitchen equipment, in the UK which would be useful to have in Spain. Is there a reasonably priced way to send stuff or (as I am told) is it just not worth the expense ?

Hi. We recently used Algarve Removals and found them reliable, helpful and very reasonably priced. Recommended to friends who have also used them, hope this helps.

If you do not find this moving recommendation works for you try Facebook.  I personally am not big on FB but I have heard there are many movers on there and recommendations.  I used a couple of different movers for things but that was a few years back now.

It could be well worth it to ship if you have nice stuff you like from the UK. I have found the items you are talking about to be quite expensive in Spain if you look in the shops, however the markets would be where I would start looking for pieces.  Fuengirola has the two markets (Tuesday for new stuff and Saturday for used).  Or there is Primark where you can pick up less expensive towels and such.  And there is the Marketplace on Facebook.  I did find some nice pieces of furniture and wall pictures on there very reasonably priced.

I might definitely evaluate the cost as you can usually share a moving van that is going back and forth against what the cost is to replace.  However now things are more complicated for sure.

Good luck!
