Hi, we want to make a Will and can anyone advise roughly how much they were charged for legal advice and the fee for notary (Torremolinos).  Many thanks.

Hi Noel,

Go to a notary, they charge under a 100 euros and do a good job.

Thanks for the quick reply Chris  So you just make an appointment with a notary and they help you draw up the Will? I just thought a notary is like a registrar where you get legal docs stamped. Just so different from home. Thanks

I thought the same as you, but when I went to the notary in Marbella, they were very helpful.

I told them what I wanted to do and they wrote the will in Spanish and English.

I paid 67 Euros.

I can give you their details if you want?

Thank you very much both for your help. I will go to Torremolinos as it's beside me and very grateful for the advice. 😊

best thing to do, provided you know what you want to say in your will...for example, all to surviving spouse and then to children...there is no need for executors and trustees in a spanish will....and all wills are registered by the notario at the wills registry in Madrid so there is a permanent record ....very useful.  Of course if you have had several wives and children from various ex-wives it could be more complicated.

One husband is enough thank you 😀 now that is interesting. I forgot about the executors. It seems much more straightforward. Thank you for your advice.

Don't forget to ensure the will says it refers only to your property and assets in Spain particularly if you have UK assets and have made a UK will and the UK will should exclude property in spain or there will be a conflict which your beneficiaries will not thank you for
