Reality check. Who in their right mind is going to have some bloke that they don't know poll up for the winter, rent or no rent, to effectively share their life. I'm sure you're a perfectly pleasant guy but they might hate you on sight. And you might not be pleasant at all. Nobody remotely sane is going to go for that. Why not rent a small place for the winter, then you have your own space and can socialise as you want to, get out and about, meet people socially and develop your friendships that way, on your own terms in the way that friendships are supposed to work. If somebody needs some decorating done they can employ a decorator, not hand over the keys to their life for several months. Just saying. :)

Thanks for your reply.You seem a really nice guy.I have been to Estapona quite a lot,it's a great place to live.

Perhaps we could meet up,on the front,and get to know each other,I am sure we would get on fine.Then if you have a spare room,you might put me up for a few months.I do make a very good curry,which I know you would appreciate.

I could also do your laundry,and some basic cleaning,this would give you more time to get out and about.I can pay the rent in advance,if that would suit you.

I don't wish to be rude, but you seem to have missed my point entirely. This was not a pre-amble to offering you a room or getting to know you and with no disrespect I have no wish to put anyone up for a few months, God, visitors for a long weekend is usually enough. My point is that you would do far better to rent a small apartment or a studio for the winter so that you have your own place. Then you can invite your new found friends, once you've been out, developed a social life and found them, for a homemade curry. I think I'm sounding a bit hard but I'm being a realist.

Quite right Andy...I am looking for a permanent place and I see lots of "winter rentals" for reasonable prices:)

Is Estapona a big town..Are there lot of Brits or a good mix?

Maybe,you and I could rent a place together?.It looks like Andy is not going to offer me any accommodation soon.We could share a two bed appartment in Estepona,then we could meet up with Andy for a drink,and he could show us the town.I can rent a car,and all three of us could visit nearby towns,with Andy as the guide.Would you like me to bring some english items over with me?I know it can be quite difficult to get certain items there.

Just let me know what you would like me to bring.

This is excellent.  How funny.  Did give me a good laugh.  Surely Andy this is just a bit of banter.  But please correct me if I'm wrong. Do I take it you don't fancy a homemade curry then.
