Louche Ango-American Couple Seeks Friends in Their Destination Country! Millions Flee!

We’re an Anglo-American couple of a certain age (as who, to be fair, is not?) that intends to relocate to Spain in 2019. We shall be looking at properties between 19 and 25 November first around Benaldama/Mijas and then on the Costa Tropical, and would love to have a drink with some prospective friends who can give us some tips.

We’re creative. I’m a graphic designer (https://johnmendelssohn.wixsite.com/done-roman) and musician (www.freudiansluts.co.uk). Dame Zelda teaches exotic massage techniques and can sometimes be persuaded to sing the songs I write (https://youtu.be/3mjP4MSK6iE). We both read books. (I write ‘em as well), and we’re not talking John bloody Grisham and Danielle bloody Steele. Dame Zelda, a one-time punk chanteuse, is fervently interested in animal rights and karaoke. I'm a former music journalist who introduced David Bowie to the work of Iggy Pop (it’s in all 871 Bowie biographies!), and a former minor rock star in actual Hollywood. On TV, we’ve enjoyed A Handmaid’s Tale, The Crown, Money Heist (originally Casa de Papel), and Fargo. We like to imagine ourselves fairly witty, with a sometimes scabrous, usually deadpan sense of humour. We both dislike intolerance, be it homophobia, xenophobia, or even claustrophobia (Santa’s a diamond geezer in our book).
