Hi please can anyone assist us as we bought a new smart TV for our studio apartment and a kind ex TV engineer from the UK set it up for us so we were able to watch English channels on it using our mobile phone however the app seems to have vanished off our phone so we need to download it again before our next visit in April does anyone have any idea what it could be (it was something like Red box TV) but have searched but no luck so far? Thank you in advance

The main thing you need is a VPN to shift data via UK and be your apparent location, sometimes can be tricky to install software smart TV.

You could set it of on a Fire Stick and plug into and HDMI socket TV..

Did you buy an Android Smart TV?   https://www.expressvpn.com/vpn-software/vpn-to-tv-casting-mirroring-cable

Using a laptop connected HDMI TV makes it simple & VPN easy to install, you can also by a Mini PC with HDMI and plug into TV. start from £99 UK just need a wireless keyboard. You can set up all the TV and BBC iPlayer UK and with VPN would be ready to work in Spain if have OK internet connection..

Thank you so much for your assistance on this would this make a difference to our choices if we have no Internet or wi fi in our block? Previously we had an app on my android phone which I streamed onto the TV using my data but the app has vanished it was called something like red box tv but I'm unable to find it again to download it? Apologies I know its difficult for you to advise with all the ifs and buts etc just thought maybe an easy fix for us?

If no internet in apartment and want to stream TV via phone, as before, just use apps like iPlayer and down load a VPN to your phone and make location UK.

That's fine, we try to help, my only last point, set it all up UK first, you can check VPN UK. If location set UK will work, change to Madrid should block things like iPlayer and ITV, Good luck

Hi, Can you have broadband installed in your apartment?

I have been using OliveNet, now called Olin, for many years for UK TV and broadband.

I've had no problems and when I'm not here I can ask them to switch the whole service off.

So you only pay when you need it.

Hi  Chris,

I can certainly ask the communal guy as our accomadation is a block of flats but it is definitely worth looking into if and when you get chance do you have a contact number for Olin and are they English speaking?

Hi, Google olin.es and fill out their contact form for more information.

I have their app on my smart tv.

It's a simple cost effective service.

They speak English.

Regards,

Chris
