Hi,

I have a holiday home in Benalmádena and wonder who would be the best provider for an internet and tv package. We were with eurocable who have sadly closed recently but what I liked about them was that the package could be switched on and off and pay a standby fee whilst we are not there rather than pay full amounts each month. Is there another provider who does this? Thank you for any suggestions 😊

Hi Julie

I suggest that you try www.OliveNet.es.

They offer 100 MB broadband, which is quite fast, for €19.90 per month and you can put the service on standby for 9 months per year, so you would only pay €60 per year.

If you take out a 24 month contract the installation fees are waived but expect to pay about €108.90 for the router although you might be able to bargain that down a wee bit.

You will need to send them scans of your passport and NIE certificate and also a bank document with your IBAN number on it. That will be required by most providers.

OliveNet say that they will connect you within 1 week.

Let us know if you find a better deal.

Best wishes

Philip
