I purchased a photo rail card and also a gold card at arroyo but when i went to use the photo card it would not work and the took it off me when can you use a gold card a gold card normally thanks

Hi.
The Tarjeta Dorada is an annually renewable National rail card and can be used for any rail travel in Spain. The card is a paper card, the same size as a business card and is valid throughout Spain for 1 year. It cost 6 euros in May 2019.
The photo card is produced by RENFE, but is only valid on line C1 and the small lines in Malaga. It can be shown at ticket offices and ticket machines with a plastic card holder. There are 2 types of machine however. There is a macine where you can select and then pay immediately and another type which asks you to confirm your fare and then gives 4 options of payment.
