Hi - I signed up for WiFi with Vodafone in Garcia Lorca in November. Despite going back in in December and January several times to to remind them - it was never installed. Then I discovered they had taken 2 payments in March and April. I went back to their shop to cancel and get a refund. She was rude and unhelpful, saying it was not possible and gave me a phone number that doesn’t work (22189). i have tried many ways to contact them - phone numbers from their website, emails which I received the standard reply to register first, but you need a contract number for that, which Ive never had. Has anyone else had a similar experience with Vodafone? Terrible company.

Hi Peter,

I was thinking of switching from Movistar to Vodafone but now I am reconsidering thanks to your post.  Thanks so much for letting us all know.

Dealing with the Spanish service providers can certainly be a challenge and I have sort of taken the approach that is what is working, keep it.  I know that my neighbours switched from Movistar to Vodafone.  It was cheaper but they also had problems.  Fortunately they had a Spanish woman to help.

So, the lesson here is that sometimes in Spain you need a Spanish person to help bridge the gap.  They dont much listen to non-spanish.  if you had a Gestor or a Lawyer you might get some action.

Good luck!  I hope you get this resolved and thanks again for posting it.

Hi, Kerri,

I was getting nowhere with the Vodafone assistant - she was very rude and unhelpful. She gave me a phone number but I got a recorded message. I asked Johan at the Pueblosol cafe to translate and he offered to come back to Vodafone with me. After waiting for an hour, the girl was polite and friendly with him - he said he was going to tell her he was my lawyer! He was on my phone all the way back to the cafe and resolved the issue. I got an email from Vodafone confirming I would get a refund. I would thoroughly recommend the Pueblosol cafe. They cannot do enough for you. Very helpful, friendly service. Great tapas and cocktails!😄

Peter,  that is great to hear!!

We appreciate your giving us the final outcome of this situation.  Great reference to know of people able to help us non-Spanish speakers get things sorted.
