Not outside, just in stores, but some people still wear them outside.

The official line for each of Spains’s 17 regional authorities is…no masks outdoors unless social distancing is impossible but mask up ‘indoors’ - which includes retail units, public buildings, public transport etc.

In my town, 95% of the population still wear masks outdoors. Presumably because they remain sublimated by politicians’ shock/horror campaigns. Or they prefer to ignore virus science

The latter may account for why so many unmasked persons inside bars and restaurants will sneeze and cough and splutter into the air without covering their noses and mouths

In General the Spanish very good with masks & if they wear them outside fine, 'the less virus breathed into the air the better' & the flu season about to start. (You could be extra unlucky and catch both) 'Singapore' has kept up a strict regime including masks & social distancing throughout and their death rate below is proof worthwhile. However, you are correct when people hit bars and restaurants here all the care they have taken is 'evaporated' and suspect one of the most common places of transmission.

Are you worried about people 'not wearing masks' or the thought of wearing one? However, cases now pretty low as link below, you will note the Spanish now have their own fashion style & wear on their arm, ready to mask up as enter peoples homes indoor spaces or stores.

Hi just returned from Sabi and Duquesa and yes inside mask wearing or in crowded places. However, walking and most outside areas it's not necessary. We were surprised  after hearing some horror stories  how comfortable and relaxed we felt. Enjoy.

Hi Tim

Costa del Sol has moved to level 0 (0 being lowest).  So, this is good news.  Med centres are starting g booster covid doses and 'flu vaccines so we are awaiting to hear.  Less than 50 cases per 100,000 which is reassuring.  In my original home town of Trafford, Gtr Manchester figures have soared to 810 per 100,000.  I am 64 and hubby is 76 so this is a haven for us to live in Casares.  Enjoy and relax!  Elle

Hi Elle.

Thank you so much for that reassurance we live in Bristol and figures much higher than 50.I know Casares well we stayed in a appartment up the hill from the roundabout at the bottom opposite the golf course really nice and quiet.

We are looking to come around the beginning of November for a couple of weeks I don't suppose you know of any accomodation in the area?I have been looking on VRBO not much around. What's the weather like at the moment not amazing here.

Regards.

Benn.
