Hi, my name is Pete and my wife Margaret and I have often spoke of moving to Spain.

Having again seen Saydo Park on TV we were wondering what the weather is like through the winter.

We would particularly like to hear about caravan living through winter and in fact all year round.

Hi there,

In the winter, Spain can get very cold - especially at night. I guess a caravan would be easy to heat but you'd have to factor that in to your costs. Similarly, it gets blimmin' hot in the summer, inland places more so than the coast. I know it feels great on holiday, just lying around all day in the sun, but to do that for 2, maybe 3, months is hard going and I imagine a caravan gets pretty hot 24 hours a day. I hope there's someone on the forum that could give you better information, I can only speak generally.

Thank you for your help (mystery person). I believe Mollina is well above sea level so may not be roasting all through the summer.

Thanks again

Pete

Oh, inland areas are VERY hot.. I used to live in a village south of Granada, and 45 was common in August. I now live closer to the coast and (last year notwithstanding) we get thousands of people from inland areas escaping the heat.
As I said, I hope someone who lives where you are specifically looking at can be more exact.

Thanks again, Pricklyone.

All and any info is much appreciated.

I have read about Alhambra mobile homes(made in Spain) that apparently insulated to be cool in summer, warm in winter.

Can anyone confirm?

Hi Pete

I live on Park la Posada which is not that far from Saydo. Its worth having a look at their web site. The weather can get a little cold in winter and a little hot in summer. But you can see the weather patterns over the past few years on the weather apps. Hope you find what yuor looking for.

Best Regards Vic

Hi Vic

Thanks for the info. We did look at la posada a couple of years ago and it looks very nice. At the time we had second thoughts about coming over to Spain, due to things we read about the critters that could harm our two Chihuahuas, as well as how they may struggle with the heat.

Maybe we could have another look.

Regards Pete

Hi Pete

We have never had any problems with kritters, however during the mid day heat you cannot let them out. We go out first thing morning and last thing at night. We are in a mobile home and find it very cosy during winter and cool in summer just got to make sure you have got good insulation and a A/C unit.

Regards Vic

Hi all regarding cold in winter and the heat in summer I seen one mobile home advertised on Saudi with roof insulation, my question is can that be done to any mobile home and if so does anyone know of approximately how much it costs, will be interesting to know if someone as had it done and did it make a difference. Thanks.
