My wife and I have been looking for a private health insurance suitable for non-lucrative visa. We are both 73. We have had three quotes, all over €300/month. Does anybody know if this Is this reasonable?
Many thanks.

Gosh that sounds expensive. We pay 124€ per month for the two of us - ours is with DKV.

Thank you. It might be our age.
I have heard of people over 70 with minor health issues being refused. If you can even get insurance over 70 I would think its good.
However, I would try a broker before going direct. They can scan insurers you do not have access to and will become a go between should you have any issues. And the insurance companies here in Spain do not (bar one that I know of - the most expensive one) speak English at all. They might say they have an English speaker but try to get them on the phone, forget it.
So a broker can help you if you need it at some point.

I found Sanitas good and i am a pensioner. They have offices in various places and English admin staff, worth a try, good luck!
Hi.
we are also going thru the NLV process and also having to get health insurance. We are both in our 60’s and after a bit of searching we chose ASSSA and we have to pay 3500€ a year but that is for the premium cover and there is no annual increase it stays that price every year, others we looked at were also about the same price They are English speaking and very helpful. Please also note that part of the NLV process you have to pay the yearly fee up front for the first year then monthly the years after that.

We are in the same boat and are scouring the market.
AXA was by far the best offer we got.

Can I just ask....if you have residency in Spain and are in receipt of a UK state pension, can you not use an NHS S1 form to access medical healthcare?
