Hello, I'm looking to move to Spain later in the year or maybe later because of Covid!.

I would like to ask A, I have a small amount of furnishings/personal belongings etc would it be worth taking it with me?.

B, If so what is the best way within reasonable cost of move ver cost of replacing furnishings ?.

Any help will be appreciated .

Dave

There are a couple of things to consider. The first & most important at this stage is to ensure that you are eligible for residence given the changes since Brexit (of course, that's assuming you are British). Presumably you have already researched this and qualify? As for your furnishings, honestly unless they are of real value then personally I wouldn't bother and would buy new in Spain. And remember that if you are renting or buying a resale many properties come furnished anyway. But, to be certain, you could join one of the many expat forums for the Costa Del Sol on Facebook as there are a fair number of transport companies that advertise in those groups. Then you can get a price for the transport and compare that to buying locally, be that at IKEA or one of the many furniture and furnishings shops in the area.

Good luck!

Hi, I moved quite a lot of furniture out about 3 years ago, I used a guy called Jimbo the Scot he was brilliant, picked my stuff up in Glasgow and took it all the way down to Malaga, very reasonable prices I believe that he is based in the Midlands and also Almeria, he goes out to Spain every week or two , you can contact him at,   http://www.jimbothescot.com/

Good luck Martin
