Hi All

I wonder if anyone can advise us . We were hours last night trying with the help of Amazon  customer assistance to get the British channels on our TV with the fire stick and express VPN . It isn’t a smart TV . The channels come up but on entering an error message appears saying about the location . At first the assistant said put in London then all locations and another said put in Barcelona , confused and it still isn’t working up to 1am this morning . Any ideas ? Will it possibly only work on a laptop ??? Many thanks Jane

Not sure about the Fire Stick, but you need a VPN for the laptop, or computer, you have to pay for one because the data streams via their server which has a cost. The same would apply Firestick someone has to supply the service,

Have you loaded the VPN on the Firestick?

If you are stuck give me a call 685 208 163

Hi

Thank you for your response . We have managed to do it ! The assistants online of VPN express didn’t really give us the correct information . Basically you have to load the VPN app on the fire stick, then choose a London location.  Jane

Hi Roger

Thanks so much for your response . Finally we have done it . As you said you have to load the VPN on the fire stick and choose a London location . VPN express gave us incorrect information . There now though !!

Hi there , we have 2 iptv boxes , but we use a firestick as a backup as well as viewing box sets etc , we take it with us when we are away from home on vacation etc

First you need a vpn ( we use expatvpn)

We have britbox and itv hub   you have to subscribe,  but for £ 5 odd a month well worth it

Also bbc iplayer ( free )

Channel 5 ( free )

Right

Vpn

UK post code ( just use one from any you know)

Make sure the time on your firestick is set to UK time and NOT Spanish time

Hope this helps

Hi Gladys

Thank you for that information . We have a fire stick and VPN . We think our buffering and pixelation issues might be caused by the age of the TV . we have a TV box too that gives us basic Brit channels , but we cannot use it as a backup as you do because our TV only has 1 HDMI plug . Our laptops seem to work well with the WIFI we have in this block . So we think we have to get a more updated TV . Would you agree ?

Many thanks Jane

The fact it works fine on the PC/Laptop indicates the processor Fire Stick not up to the job. (I don't think the TV just needs a good feed) Does the laptop have HDMI out?  (I have a mini mac driving my TV with VPN)

Regards only one HDMI socket, just buy something like this from Amazon

Sorry I didn’t make it clear that we use our laptops without a VPN Aor fire stick just with the available wifi in the block . So we wonder whether a Smart TV instead of our older TV would be the answer ?

thanks Jane

I've found that the further away from your router you have your firestick,  the internet connection gets lost , we tried wiring ours with ethernet cable,  but that didn't work ( although in theory it should have worked) I bought a internet booster plug and placed it between the router and our bedroom,  seems ok , but for best results you need to be nearest to the router,
