Hi Joann, we are an English couple now retired, we speak a little Spanish and intend to improve if we make the move to Spain. We are thinking of purchasing a mobile home in the Antequera area but we’re finding it to be a difficult decision to purchase a mobile home without having tried living in one for a time first, though I understand that visits to various parks can be arranged.

We have visited Spain several times and this area seems to offer a good selection of facilities. However I am getter rather confused with the different parks, I looked at La Vina which looks lovely and Saydo Park plus many others. I wondered what made you decide on La Vina over all of the other parks, and have i misunderstood that you can see the sea from here? We intend to be very active and like bowling, pétanque, swimming, walking, we are looking for a quiet area to live in but with a lively social life within the park if possible. Hope you don’t mind me asking could you give me the benefit of your experience so far. Many thanks Jan and Pete

Hello Jan & Pete.  I can understand your concerns.  We have lived in a mobile home in Florida and found it to be a much easier    have  found that any repair is Much cheaper to contract out and much easier to fix on your own. example all the          plumbing  is under the house like sliding under your car.  As for why I chose La vina is because it's lots are large the   homes are not on top of each other the yard space is a good size to enjoy the outside privately. I choose this because it is 15 min drive to Antequeras which is a city I can walk 10 min (good exercise) to the local      stores. The location of Mollina is close to Sevilla, Madrid, pretty much in the middle of major visiting locations.  It's a small community less than 100 homes, 30 min drive to Large Lakes to go swim The park is surrounded by olive groves and    mountains   The parking for my car is on my lot and some other places you have assigned parking walking distance from you home.  They have a separate lot to plant your Veg if you want.  The pool is large and the park is  clean supper quiet and well kept. It is not near the ocean beach but if we wanted to go it is approx. 45 min drive.      The water is very cold in the Mediterranean and I don't expect it will be much warmer in the summer. I now live across the roda from the beach.  Were I live now is Torre del Mar and am told that from June to the beginning of Sept.    the amount of tourist is unbearable. Living here we do not need a car & if you want to go exploring you have to take  the bus.  The parking here without the tourist is difficult now We want to travel Europe.  One important thing is do not go to a park that has RV Camping Full of traffic and people all the time. Hope this helps.

Hi Joann, thank you for your reply, we shall certainly have a look around La Vina when we come over. The allotments sound interesting. What’s it like on an evening, any entertainment etc? Oh and by the way do they have bowling here, and are the locals invited to use the facilities, which I don’t mind but I wondered how crowded it gets if this happens? Cheers Jan and Pete.

Jan & Pete

I have to tell you that I just purchased my home and as a matter of fact I was there today to pay for my lot rent and establish the water and electricity.  I have to go back tomorrow to establish the cable TV and internet.  I have  no idea of there allowing the community in but I would almost venture to say No.  They pride themselves on the owners security and tranquility.  I know they have gatherings and they have a Lic to sell drinks at the bar which is close to the pool. here is a site that tells you somethings about the different parks                                                                              https://www.resalemobilehomesinspain.co.uk/our-parks-overview/

Here is the contact through Think Spain of the realtors that will arrange for you to see the homes  Nikki they are out of the UK.  here is here email [email protected]

I assume you know that 99% of the community are English but the owners are Spaniards but speak English

Let them know I am sending

Yes there is bowling. The tranquility of this park and the Beautiful Gardens are very serine.  You can contract the     owners (sons) for carpentry Plumbing, Tile work, or Electricity.  The home I purchased cost me 17,000 GB I am       waiting for an estimate from them as I want to make the rooms to my taste, remove the rugs put down Laminate      floor, take one of the 3 bedrooms and make a larger bath room with tile walls & shower and remove the old shower room to open up the kitchen.  I'm waiting for the final estimate but so far we have talked about 5,000 Eu this includes them buying everything and installing Now you know as much as I know. My husband & I have always done our own renovations but for all they are going to do and get all the material I prefer to sit back and enjoy it.

Thank you so much Joann for your insight into the park. I thought that even a 2 bed home would cost far more than that and I didn’t realise that you could change the layout around as you have. I hope everything goes well for you and who knows we may meet in the future. Have a great time x

Hi,

We have just moved from a park near to La Vina, Posada, which was a great place to start, giving us the confidence of now going it alone.

Sometimes, the park can be a bit overwelming, as everyone knows or wants to know your business, but as I said, it was a good grounding.

Enjoy

Hi sue, thanks very much for this. We had looked online at several parks, Posada being one of them and it looks very nice, we’re particularly interested in the bowling. It’s very difficult to decide which park would be the most suitable, but hopefully we will have a look around when we come over to Spain later in the year. Would you have any recommendations on the various parks? Thanks again, Jan
