Best area to buy a house in antequera - Page 2

I would have a look around, Antequera is quite a large town. The areas to avoid are the industrial areas and close to the shopping area and those where the Gitanos live. They tend to be a little noisy and untidy, especially with cars and mopeds. The best advice I got from an estate agent, was never buy a house that opens onto a road, try to get one in a side street. I did and it is fantastic

I used an English estate agent who lives in Trabuco. She speaks Spanish and showed us around the area and different towns. She gave us good advice and knows plenty of people selling houses.

Sorry, I forgot to mention my solicitor. He is very good, speaks English and knows the property market well. He is based in Malaga and handled everything from the house purchase to setting us up in Spain, including my car being transferred to Spanish plates.

We used a local estate agent, who happens to be English, but speaks perfect Spanish and a solicitor in Malaga, who also speaks great English. He set up everything for us in terms of bank accounts, local taxes and even the electricity company.
