healthcare
we hoping to be retiring to the area in the near future, but we are concerned about health care, as my husband recently had a heart attack, can anyone tell us how it works.
You need to check this carefully as different rules apply depending on personal circumstances. For accurate information, use Citizens Advice Spain ...they also have an archive of excellent datasheets .. https://www.citizensadvice.org.es/
thankyou for the advice

My husband and I are moving to Antequera when our house in Coín is sold. We have Helvetia (HNA) Health Insurance and are having difficulty finding out where this Insurance will be accepted in the Antequera area. Does any one know? Txs Gill
It would seem reasonable to expect that HNA would be able to tell you but my experience with Health Insurance companies makes me think it isn't surprising you have not been able to find out! :)
Would definitely recommend finding an Insurance Broker to be sure you get the right information for your specific situation. Also I believe (but please check this for your situation) that you need to give your Health Insurance company several months' notice to close an account with them.
A broker is best qualified to help with all this.
Hi Kerri, thanks for the info. We actually need to keep the Health Insurance with Helvetia going (even though we are in the State system) as my husband has a medical condition and as you know it would be impossible to change to another Company because of this. If we are going to move to Antequera I want to make sure he can get the treatment he needs and of course where to go for this.
Regards Gill

You've probably already done so, but have you tried asking your provider for a list of their authorised doctors in Malaga province?
