These are available at a ‘reasonable” price from SYNLAB. We have used the branch in Antequera and also one in Cordoba. August 2021 price was 38€. Tests can be booked online or by phone and the results are available in about 20 minutes. Regarding UK tests, the gov.uk site has a list of suppliers. These start at “From £20” but when you go to book the price has jumped to silly prices. Perseverance eventually found one for £28 + £7.99 delivery. There may be cheaper ones but I lost the will to live!

We flew back to England after booking our Rapid Flow Covid Test at Malaga airport on line easily done but took a while to access site when we arrived with necessary forms, passports and proof of Covid vaccines x2 and joined the queue for prebooked  appointments hardly anyone in front of us and was seen earlier than our appointment time, all very efficient and very friendly......but .....although advised the result would be on my IPad within 15 minutes we waited and waited and time was becoming an issue we did try to book our luggage in but as soon as I couldn’t show a negative test we were turned back to the Covid centre , as we were becoming very stressed the lovely doctor who had signed us in and explained , he said.....check your Spam mail yes there were the results sent straight to my junk mail, I blame myself for not checking but all other correspondence from them had gone straight into my email  so this is to make other seniors aware of the situation and assist others to try to make it less stressful

Hi, thanks for your message. Am I correct in thinking I can get a PCR test from this company Synlab before I return to the UK?

Thanks Bernadette

Hi Bernadette, yes, SYNLAB do PCR tests but they also do the much cheaper Rapid Antigen Tests with results in about 15 minutes. The UK Government accepts these.

The first time we used SYNLAB because we were sailing to the UK. The second time, this August, we were flying from Malaga at silly-o’clock in the morning before the lab opened.

This site provides tests for leaving the Uk which haven’t been required for entry to Spain for some time. The stated cost is £99 not £29. The website does offer free “return” tests but gives no indication of how you would actually get your test carried out in Spain. In any case, the new regulations mean you won’t need a test before leaving Spain if double jabbed, just the UK based test two days after arrival.

Not that it's needed now but you take the test with you and then email your results back to the company who then provide the certificate. I paid £29 for mine.
