I am looking to replace my gas water heater with an electric one. Can anyone recommend or advise on what is good out there and where to start research? It is for my holiday home and needs to heat water for 4 people during the day. Thank you.

I don't know what the future holds but the Spanish Government fixes the price of Butane gas in Spain, right now still very cheap. Make sure if switch to an electric water heater enough power, many properties Spain have a very low total supply & could throw the trips when running other things same time.
