Hi

We have been advised by our lawyer to open a bank account using their services as we are moving to Spain. Can anyone tell us is this the best way to open a bank account or is it easy to open ourselves? Also anyone got experience of just using online banking to avoid fees? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you

You need a Euro account, of which one of the best is N26, but you need a Spanish address plus a NIE number first. .

Hi.

If you are a full UK citizen moving to Spain and have researched your solicitor- follow their recommendation and use their support.

Brexit has changed everything.

You will likely be charged an annual fee for the account but should get English language support.

Once you settled and more fluent, registered for NIE,  you can research a move.

Experience - We are in process of moving

We just in process of moving.

We were undecided between AeG or Costa so we came out in November last year to explore both areas and settled on AeG.

You get more for your money inland.

Town House in AeG vs holiday flat in Costa.

AeG is a friendly town. Its a working town so not much in the way of tourism but it has its attractions in other ways.

People are friendly and there are good bars and restaurants. There is established "ex-pat" communities but lots if opportunity to integrate with the local community.

Our property lawyer set us up with Sabadell and we have had no issues with them and now use them for our business account.

They have an app and good online site. Bank staff are good with English.

Sounds perfect 😁 we can’t wait to move. We are over in May to look round again and to make our final decision on location. Thank you for the info and all the best with the move ☀️
