Hi could someone help please, we are wanting to move to the area full time when i retire but sadly ive been reading that i need to prove at the police station to get residency i will be in reciept of over 2,000 pounds per month and over 500 a month for my husband but the uk pension is not this amount im gutted if this is so..

Hi there

I don't think it's that much. I also think it depends where abouts you decide to settle. Here in Mollina I have a translator who has helped us get our NIE numbers, our padron and register us at the medical centre. She says that my husbands state pension is enough to enable to him to apply for residency. So we are about to start the process of applying for him.

Once I retire my state pension should then enable me to get residency as well.

I can put you in touch with my translator if you would like to speak to her.

Thank you so much that would be helpful , we are wanting to buy a caravan in the saydo park, and we will have some savings by the time i retire , we are selling our narrow boat to buy the van , so any help is most welcome

Hi there we were told by an official that if we wanted residency we just need to show that we had €5000 in a ball account , I think that's all the money you will need

This is news to us we were never asked how much our income was at all.dont know if the laws have changed ,but I have asked other friends and they have never heard of this before.good luck

Hi thanks for the reply, i read it for when we leave the eu and it said to read up on none eu countries and how they have to do it. So i did and read that so started to panick..
